Whisper of the Bard

Who we are

Whisper of the Bard is operated by Logiciel Smart Deals (Québec, Canada). By creating an account or purchasing credits, you accept these terms.

The game master

The game master of Whisper of the Bard is an artificial intelligence program: it tells the story and brings the characters to life. The rules and the dice are handled by the game itself.

Your account

• You must be 14 or older.
• Your account is personal; you are responsible for your password.
• An account that violates the rules below may be suspended or closed.

Credits and subscription

• Playing uses credits; the Balance button shows your balance and what each action has consumed.
• Credits never expire. They are neither transferable nor exchangeable for money.
• Prices are displayed before purchase, in Canadian dollars or euros depending on your country; applicable taxes, if any, are shown at payment.
• Payments are made through Stripe: we never see your card number.
• Three subscriptions (daily, weekly, or monthly player) add credits each month and renew automatically. Any remaining credits are kept and added together from month to month. You can cancel at any time in Balance, “Manage my subscription”; it stops at the end of the paid month. If its price changes, you will be notified by email at least 30 days in advance.
• The playing hours indicated for each subscription are an estimate: a new story costs more than continuing the adventure, and prices may be revised based on the game’s actual usage.

Refunds

• Top-up: fully refunded within 14 days if its credits have not been used.
• Subscription: the current month is not refunded.
• Billing error: always corrected.
• Write to us with your username and the purchase date. Your rights under Quebec's Consumer Protection Act remain fully intact.

Code of Conduct

You may not try to access another player's account or games, use bots, resell access or credits, produce illegal or hateful content, or disrupt the game.

Game Ownership

Whisper of the Bard, its code, interface, texts, images, music, and worlds belong to Logiciel Smart Deals. You may not copy, reproduce, decompile, or use them to create a similar game or service, in whole or in part, without our written consent. The stories you experience while playing remain yours.

Privacy

• What we keep: your username, email address, an encrypted hash of your password, your games, your purchases, and a connection log (date, IP address) for security.
• Who we share with: to operate the game, game text is processed by our technical providers, located in the United States; Stripe for payments; Google if you sign in with Google. We never sell your data.
• No advertising trackers: only the cookies necessary for signing in.
• You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. Person responsible for the protection of personal information: the president of Logiciel Smart Deals.

The rest

We do our best to keep the game running without interruption, but cannot guarantee it. These terms may change: the current version is always on this page, with its date. Applicable laws: Quebec and Canada.
